What is SuneKOS? The regenerative injectable for people who don’t want to look “done”

This is the treatment that gave me my confidence back.

For years, my dark circles were the thing I noticed every time I looked in the mirror. I tried all sorts, but nothing really made the difference I wanted.

Then I found SuneKOS.

It was the first treatment that genuinely transformed the appearance of my dark circles and made me feel comfortable in my own skin again.

I’m still an exhausted mum of three who doesn’t get enough sleep. SuneKOS hasn’t managed to fix that bit.

But it transformed me from an exhausted mum of three who felt she needed makeup to hide how tired she looked into an equally exhausted mum of three who could do the school run without makeup without looking like something from Halloween.

And that might sound like a small thing.

It wasn’t.

Because when something you see every single time you look in the mirror bothers you, changing it can have an impact that goes far beyond your skin.

That’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about SuneKOS now.

Not because I think every woman needs to look younger.

But because I know what it feels like when your reflection stops matching the person you feel like inside.

Perhaps you recognise that feeling?

Maybe you’ve noticed that your skin isn’t behaving quite like it used to.

It feels a little thinner. Less bouncy. Fine lines seem to hang around for longer. The skin around your eyes looks tired, even when you’re not. Perhaps your cheeks don’t have quite the same firmness, or your usual skincare suddenly doesn’t seem to make the difference it once did.

Sometimes those changes creep up gradually. Sometimes, particularly during perimenopause and menopause, women tell me it feels as though their skin has changed almost overnight.

And this is exactly the sort of skin I love treating.

Not because I want to change the way you look.

Quite the opposite.

I want to help your skin become healthier, stronger and more resilient so that, when you look in the mirror, you still look completely like you.

Just fresher. Brighter. A little more rested.

And that is where SuneKOS gets really interesting.

SuneKOS at a glance

If you’re somebody who just wants the important bits first, here they are.

What is it?
An injectable regenerative treatment using a patented combination of hyaluronic acid and six amino acids.

What is it for?
Improving skin quality, hydration, firmness and elasticity, and softening the appearance of fine lines.

Where can it be used?
Eyes, face, neck, décolletage and hands.

How many treatments?
A full course is usually three treatments, around 14 days apart.

What about downtime?
There can be redness and little bumps where the product has been injected. These often settle relatively quickly, although occasionally they take longer, and bruising is possible.

When will I see results?
Improvements develop gradually over the weeks and months following treatment, rather than appearing immediately.

Will I look different?
That isn’t the aim. SuneKOS is about improving the quality of your skin, rather than changing the shape of your face.

If you’re someone who likes to understand the why before you let anybody near your face with a needle, keep reading…

So, what actually is SuneKOS?

SuneKOS is an injectable treatment designed to work with the biology of your skin.

At its heart is a patented combination called HY6AA, containing six amino acids and hyaluronic acid. It is designed to create an environment that supports the skin’s production of important components including collagen, elastin and fibronectin.

And it’s worth talking about those for a moment because we hear so much about collagen, but youthful-looking skin isn’t simply skin with lots of collagen.

Collagen contributes to its structure and density. Elastin gives skin that wonderful ability to stretch and spring back, while fibronectin contributes to the structure supporting it.

Think about a child’s face when they grin. Their whole face scrunches up, their eyes crease and then they stop smiling and… ping. Everything springs back.

That’s elasticity.

As our skin changes with age, that snap-back becomes less efficient and lines that once disappeared immediately after an expression can begin hanging around.

What might I actually notice?

We’re looking for changes such as firmer-feeling skin, smoother texture, improved elasticity, greater hydration, brighter-looking skin and a softening in the appearance of fine lines.

It’s the kind of change where your skin can begin to look fresher and healthier rather than treated.

Perhaps your eye area doesn’t look quite so tired.

Perhaps your skin feels smoother when you apply your skincare, and your makeup sits better rather than settling into the creases.

Perhaps you catch yourself in the mirror and think, Oh, I look well today.

For me, those are the lovely results.

Not somebody saying:

“What have you had done?”

But:

“You look really well.”

What about perimenopause and menopause?

Changes during perimenopause and menopause can coincide with changes in skin hydration, thickness, elasticity and resilience.

Women often describe their skin to me as suddenly feeling different.

Drier. More dehydrated. Crepier. Less elastic. Fine lines around the eyes becoming more obvious.

These overlap with the concerns I assess when considering SuneKOS.

And there’s another reason I think it can fit beautifully into this stage of life.

We’re busy.

Many of the women I see are juggling work, children, ageing parents, appointments, school clubs, relationships, homes and approximately 74 things currently sitting on a mental to-do list.

They want to do something for themselves, but they don’t necessarily want the world to know they’ve done it or have the luxury of hiding away afterwards.

SuneKOS itself takes around 20–30 minutes to administer, with additional time for numbing. There can be some temporary redness and small bumps afterwards and bruising is possible, but for many women the relatively low downtime makes it a manageable treatment to fit into real life.

Where can SuneKOS help?

One of the things I love about SuneKOS is its versatility.

It can be used to treat the eyes, face, neck, décolletage and hands, depending on what we’re trying to achieve.

In my clinic, I’ve developed three SuneKOS treatment approaches:

Eye-Mazing focuses on the delicate eye area and concerns such as fine lines and dark circles.

No-Tox is designed for people wanting to address signs of ageing in the upper face while retaining natural facial movement.

No-Fill focuses on the mid and lower face, supporting skin quality and elasticity around areas such as the cheeks, mouth and jowls.

Is SuneKOS the same as Botox or filler?

Not at all. And I think this is one of the most important things to understand about SuneKOS.

Botox works by temporarily relaxing specific muscles to soften expression lines.

Dermal filler is used to restore or enhance volume and facial structure.

SuneKOS does neither of those things.

Instead, its focus is on improving the quality of your skin, supporting hydration, elasticity and the natural processes involved in maintaining its structure.

It doesn’t work by relaxing your facial muscles or replacing lost volume.

Will I still look like me?

Yes. That’s the entire point.

My philosophy in clinic has never been about chasing somebody else’s face, erasing every line or pretending ageing isn’t happening.

Ageing is a privilege.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t want our outside to feel a little more connected to how we feel inside.

And if you’re nervous about injectables, you don’t have to arrive at your consultation already committed to having anything done.

We talk first.

I assess your skin. You tell me what you’ve noticed, what bothers you, what you’d like to improve and, equally importantly, what you don’t want to change.

Then we can explore what would work best for you, together.

Because ultimately, it’s about feeling confident in your skin and recognising the woman looking back at you.

Helping you reconnect with your reflection. 🤍
